THANK YOU From Fr. John...
I was truly overwhelmed on Sunday with the beauty of the liturgical celebration and the events which followed. The music was so heavenly. On the darkest and most depressing of moments when I was in the seminary about to go home to mother – somehow the Lord arranged a reason to have the “Tu Es Sacredos” sung at the end of Mass or benediction and in some miraculous way the energy and stamina to continue the journey was forthcoming. I guess that’s how the Lord worked. Saint Mary’s choir sang it perfectly.
The time together in Bermingham Hall just flew by. I was blown away to see so many friends come to join us for a bite to eat and a few good words of send-off. I know it was a bit crowded and warm, but that goes with my way on wanting something very small – and don’t forget I am known for being cheap with heat and air-conditioning. It was a marvelous event I shall always remember.
Many thanks too for your beautiful thoughts and notes. I am still savoring them. Your gifts too are so appreciated. I have to admit my favorite is an original book of pictures of Church buildings, sanctuary, decorations and people. It’s on my coffee table right next to a Southern Comfort.
Again, my deepest thanks and please continue to hold me in your prayers as you will always be in mine.
Much love and prayers, John
