The distribution of the Body and the Blood of Christ during the Mass begins with the priest at the altar, in addition to any celebrating deacons. When necessary, lay ministers are commissioned to assist in the distribution to the rest of the faithful present. Individuals serving in this capacity should go through a prayerful training period prior to ministering at the mass. The Pastoral Staff provides this training and imparts the commissioning on those serving in this role. Extraordinary Ministers also assist by bring the Body of Christ to those who may be homebound or in a medical residence. For more information or to become an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion or bring Communion to the sick, please contact the Parish Office.
